The 90’s was a good decade for the Highland Pony in Australia. It saw a significant increase in the purebred numbers, with a total of 41 purebred foals to be born and 26 of them being fillies. It seen 3 of the more well-known breeders of today, coming on to the Highland Pony breeding seen and with the help of the very well-known stallion, Barrymoor Dorian taking out titles left, right and centre on the showing seen, the Highland Pony was now making good ground and becoming better known in Australia.

In addition to the purebreds there was 11 Australian Highland Pony foals born, in different stages of the breed up program, and  roughly 16 part breds to be born on Australian soils.

The first foal to be born in the 90’s was Harkaway Lodge Heather, by Barrymoor Dorian out of Gipsy Melody of Turin Hill.

Barrymoor Grand Final sired another 5 purebreds at the start of the 90’s with his last foal was born in 1993. Out of those five there was 3 fillies and 2 colts, of which one was gelded and the other being Harkaway Lodge McMillan born in 1992.
